Former NFL quarterback and Fox Sports analyst Mark Sanchez was charged with felony battery involving serious bodily injury, and could face up to six years in jail, according to Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears. Sanchez, who played for the New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles, and Dallas Cowboys during his NFL career, has not publicly commented on the charges. The incident in question reportedly occurred in a New Year’s Eve altercation at a bar in downtown Indianapolis. Sanchez is accused of causing serious physical harm to another individual during the altercation. The 34-year-old retired from the NFL in 2019 and joined Fox Sports as a college football analyst. He has not played professional football since his retirement. The legal proceedings are ongoing, and Sanchez will have the opportunity to present his defense in court.
